Concluding his second trip to Santa Catarina state, Consul General Thomas Kelly visited Blumenau on February 24, where he met with local government, business and community leaders.   In a meeting with Mayor Kleinubing, CG Kelly highlighted the United States’ interest continuing to promote strong trade and investment ties with the region.  As evidence of the cutting-edge commercial cooperation already underway, CG Kelly visited U.S. high-technology manufacturer Albany International in nearby Indaial.  Over lunch with leading Blumenau private sector leaders, CG Kelly discussed strategies and resources available to increase bilateral trade and investment flows and build more links between the city and the United States.  Finally, CG Kelly visited the growing Port of Navegantes facilities to examine new opportunities in infrastructure development and trade facilitation.  More cargo traffic moves through Navegantes port to the United States than to any other port in Santa Catarina.
