São Paulo Governor Geraldo Alckmin with Consul General Thomas Kelly

In a February 15 introductory meeting at Palacio dos Bandeirantes, Consul General Thomas Kelly and Sao Paulo Governor Geraldo Alckmin discussed efforts to strengthen ties between Sao Paulo state and the United States.  Highlighting the importance of U.S. companies’ economic relations with Sao Paulo and the long history of U.S. investment in the state, CG Kelly also noted the active collaboration between academic and cultural institutions in both countries.  Looking across the broad range of cooperation, CG Kelly reiterated readiness among U.S. technical agencies to continue the exchange of best practices in areas such as science, education, disaster planning, and law enforcement.
