In his first visit to Londrina May 26-27, Consul General Thomas Kelly highlighted the interest of the United States in deepening ties with Paraná state and supporting economic and cultural relations. Talking to the Federação da Industrias do Estado do Paraná, he discussed opportunities for economic collaboration, including investment in the agro-industrial sector. Addressing students and staff of the Instituto Cultural Brasil-Estados Unidos (ICBEU), a bi-national center, CG Kelly spoke about the possibilities of educational exchanges between Brazil and the United States and the tangible benefits of studying English in opening doors to further educational opportunities abroad and to the global marketplace. CG Kelly also paid a courtesy call on Londrina's Mayor Homero Neto to discuss how U.S. businesses can participate in expanding ties with Londrina's primary commercial and agricultural sectors.
