Highlighting the importance of educational exchanges in building bridges of understanding between countries, Consul General Thomas Kelly co-hosted a dinner with the Brazil Fulbright Office for 32 newly-arrived U.S. Fulbright students.  In welcoming them to Brazil and wishing them well on their various studies around the country, he termed them “Education Ambassadors” and asked them to “encourage Brazilians to consider studying in the United States and to also tell your American friends and colleagues about the opportunities available here in Brazil.”  Former Brazilian Fulbrighters and the heads of international offices from several São Paulo universities also came to help welcome the U.S. Fulbright students at the event.

The U.S. students arrived in São Paulo on Saturday for a Fulbright orientation program before heading off to their various partner universities throughout Brazil.  The reception and dinner was an opportunity to develop a dialogue between U.S. and Brazilian Fulbright students and to learn more about the students activities while in Brazil.
